Bailey Road Primary & Intermediate School - Honesty, Empathy, Affirmation, Respect, Trust

This year we've begun an amazing journey to publish our own school book, working with the publishers of Toitoi magazine. So far it has been a whirlwind of students applying to be on the editorial team, submitting name suggestions, voting on names, entering art and writing, and now we're at the exciting point of having our authors matched with artists to illustrate their work. Grace from Toitoi is working with the artists to complete their commissions in time for the deadline - it's coming up faster than we thought possible!

These are the students whose art or writing (or both!) will be appearing in the ground-breaking first edition of Hey You! Yeah You! Read This Book!

Miss Stiers

This year Bailey Road School are undertaking a special piece of work that will result in us naming, creating and publishing our own journal of student writing and art.  We are extremely excited to begin this work under the guidance of Charlotte Gibbs from Toitoi.

Students in Years Seven and Eight applied to be on the student editorial team that will work with teachers and people from Toitoi throughout the year.  We had 32 applicants and from that selected nine students.  Miss Stiers and the student editorial team have begun working on advertising and promoting the naming of our journal.

We look forward to being able to announce the winner of the competition to name the journal, and the name of the journal at assembly on 11 May.
