On Friday the 22nd August Bailey Road students and some parents participated in the annual fun run. The run or walk is one lap of the school's cross country course which follows the boundary fence around much of the school then out on to Bailey Road.
A beautiful sunny Winter's afternoon allowed for full participation.
Year 7 and 8 students participate in a range of sports codes throughout the year against students from other schools within the Eastern Suburbs of Auckland.
On the 4th of November Year 7 & 8 students attended the Eastern Zone Touch Rugby tournament which was held at Madills Farm in Kohimarama.
We sent along 3 teams - a boys, a girls, and a mixed team.
In week 2 of Term 4, the Year 7 & 8 students attended the Eastern Zone Volleyball tournament held at the Lagoon YMCA.
It was a great day with Bailey Road teams doing well - the boys were 3rd and the girls 4th.
On the 14th of November we held our annual athletics day whereby the whole school partook in tabloids, and track and field events. It was well attended by parents, grandparents and ex students, with parents and ex students facing off with each other in running races at the end of the day.
It was great seeing all of our students actively engaged in the events.
The Eastern Zone cluster of Schools are schools from Glendowie, through Glen Innes, Panmure, Mt Wellington and Ellerslie back to Parnell, Orakei, and Kohimarama.
This sports competition is for Year 7 & 8 students.
